How to fall in love with Saigon - Part 1

Tuesday 10th

Had a mild sleep in and hit breakfast about 9 AM. Baby bananas, cereal, a few Asian delights and toast and coffee.

Headed off to the Reunification Palace to learn about events following the end of the Vietnam War. This place has been frozen in time since 1975 and tells the story of events around that time. There are quie a few places to reflect on the war - and the waste of time and lives that surrounded it.

A quick trip to the ATM (James loved being a millionaire) and then more markets. Got ripped off with a tuk tuk, (quoted 2 for D50000 ($2.50), which turned into D250000 ($5) each at the end of the trip and determined that was the last trip in one of those!)

Had dinner at a western style place at James request (Pizza, and fisherman's basket), but I think They try hard but dont quite make the grade. We'll stick to the local fare from now on. The cocktails however are great value (about $3 each) and the beer is thankfully cold and about a dollar. Michele has fallen in love with a Long Island Tea, which really packs a punch (It has about 5 spirits) and is knocking back far more than she probably should.

After working so hard to lose 12 kg before Steve left, he thinks he has put 11.5 kg back on. Never mind - you lose about 2kg a day in sweat.

Hit the hotel room and slept soundly
