Had a nice brekky at the Sunflower. The omlette man knew what to do but the bacon man was a bit dicey side. They call it beef bacon, but it's more cow than pig.
Wandered around Hoi An township for a while. Took in the old quarter, mainly established by the French and Japanese for trade in the 18th Century. There is a very old bridge, guardedby statues of two dogs at one end and two monkeys at the other. These represent to years the bridge was started and finished.Got back to the Sunflower at about 2 to check out and be greeted by the Manager. He was most distraught that we had decided to move on and presented us all with gives as a gesture of apology and much nodding.
We checked in to Hoi An Pacific, ordered the day's first cocktails and had a swim and a sit. Back into town to find some tailors...
Steve ordered a woollen overcoat and James (after much umming and ahhng) a 3 piece grey suit. This locked us in for the next day as 3 fittings were required for each. It turned out 2 were enough...
Back out for Dinner and we discovered a beautiful restaurant by the river. This was a real family affair, babay on hip when the order was taken and Grandma rocking anothe to sleep. It was called fish n chips n stuff and THE FOOD WAS SUPERB!!!!!! I can highly recpommend it for any travellers to Hoi An. There is a local flagship dish called The White Rose. This is a presentation of steamed wantons filled with a shrimp mix and presented in the shape of a rose. They also did magnificent Vegetarian spring rolls (see photo) and every dish was unbelievably delicious. We told a few couples at the Hotel on our return.
It was back for more swimming and cocktails and a game of pool and hit bed at about midnight
