Saturday 14th - Day 3 in Hoi An and a change of plans

This was one busy day. It started well - we woke to the news Colloingwood had been beaten, so we knew it would be a good day. Steve has misheard instructions for his first fitting and caught a taxi into town at 10AM. It turns out they had said 3PM not 10AM (hearing is going!!) and so after a bit of a wander, caught a ride on the back of a motorbike back to the Hotel. This was a great way to cool down with the breeze blasting a very swaety body.

Michele and Steve took a bike ride down to the beach whilst James had hois now customary sleep in. Stopped by the river for a cool drink on the way home.

He returned at 2PM, had his fitting and caught another motorbike back. (Michele and James were too chicken to try this - in Steve's view it was an experience not to be missed)

A swim and a cocktail later, we headed into town  for more shopping and a fitting for James. Its amazing how quickly they can put a beatifully tailored suit together in less than 24 hours.

A few adjustments were needed, so it was off to check Steve's jacket. It is wierd trying on a thick woollen jacket in 36 degree heat and 99% humidity, but he did and it fitted! Mission accokmplished part 1.

Had a bite at another riverside restaurant - bu now Michele and James had discovered another speaciallity called Cau Lau, which became a staple over the next few days and then returned to Kimmy's tailor to have another fitting. Dinner was so good earlier we had anothetr doinner and then a few more cocktails. Michele was having so many Long Island Iced Teas (all 5 whire spitits, Kaluha, Lemon and coke) we startedkeeping count. They must have worked, because the camera went berserk afterwards with shots of telegraph poles, shoes and just about everything else we passed!!

We headed back ti Kimmy's for a final fitting and a few minutes later we left with James's suit in hand.

Returned to the Hotel (more cocktails) and then tried to book flights to Ha Noi, a Motel room and a trip to Ha Long bay the next day. The dots didn't quite line up, so we made a late night executive decision to stay in Hoi An and give Ha Long Bay a miss. The only rooms left were poolside villas (life is tough), so we booked two more nights and were able to relax.

Traveling every few days had taken its toll, so we were glad of the break and extra time relaxing. We celebrated with a cocktail, chatted to some guests and hit the hay
