I think we're all in love with this place. Had a great day, saw so much. It's pretty warm and humid but the sights compensate perfectly.

Started off with a cable car ride. High, a little scary, but a view good enough to give the Singapore Flyer (Largest wheel on the planet) a miss. Caught the train (a magnificent system - Eat your heart out Metro - clean, informative and all underground) into town and  had a look at the Flyer anyway and ended up devouring the most scrumptious steamed chicken and fried prawn dumplings you could imagine.

Tummies full, took a long stroll down to the river for a cruise and then another longish walk to Orchard Road. Couldn't get the Leo Sayer song out of my head. Back to the Hotel for a swim and then another (nice clean and slow) taxi to Raffles Hotel. Spend a perfect hour watching the girls guzzle ther Singapore Slings (I had a G&T - how Raffles can you get) and covering the floor with peanut shells. It's a path that's been walked by so many, but thoroughly enjoyable just the same.

Headed into town again to the 77th floor of another tower for a chilled Tiger, cosmipolitans, mint lemonade whilst watching the sun set slowly over what has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

We then wandered down to the river for the restaurand hard sell. Students have a knack of driving a hard bargain - the group got $18 off the Chilli crab and a free drink for all. The food was well worth it and all 6 of us left satisfied. ANothe train trip back to Orchard Road and strolled for a couple of hours before heading back to our humble abode.

Mother's day tomorrow - let's see what's in store. Spoke to my Mum today - best wishes to brother Tony who had a bit of heart trouble on the golf course. All OK now, but we're thinking of you. It's sometimes hard being so far away.
